vegetable storage question
QUESTION:i just started keeping my vegetables like bell peppers, onions, and
potatos and string beans outside of the fridge and on the counters
instead. is this o.k.? and how long would i be able to keep them
there. i just got so tired of vegetable getting lost in the fridge and
finding them rotten a month later! and since i cook quite often, it's
also easier access (i can just grab them as i need them) i'll
probably use the vegetable at the latest about two weeks.
ANSWER: In the freezer bag section of your supermarket are special plastic bags
especially for keeping vegetables in the frig. We have been using them for
some time now and they really add to the life of your vegetables. They
bags have holes in them which control condensation which is what causes
vegetables to go bad quickly in the frig.
