QUESTION:I own a 79 Class A Winnebago, with a roof top pod. The rig is in good
shape, (was stored indoors most of its life), and I have walked the
length of the roof and it feels solid. What is the maximum weight I
should carry up top? Is three hundred pounds too much? Thanks in
advance.
ANSWER: A call to Winnebago may be in order. They can tell you the carrying weight of
the roof. They can also tell you the maximum weight for the rig loaded. They
may also be able to furnish you with the manual for your vehicle.
You may want to find a scale and weigh your unit. Where we live the local
disposal company will weigh RV free if you don't require the written receipt.
