Storage Container for 50# Flour/Sugar
QUESTION:Storage Container for 50# Flour/Sugar
Okay, it's frightening but here I am again; seeking knowledge. What
containers can I use that will hold 50# of flour and/or sugar and will
keep critters out in summer. I am planning on purchasing a window air
conditioner for the small room in which I keep my baking supplies also
but I do need a container that will keep the flour and/or sugar (whatever) fresh.
ANSWER: -I take the flour out of the bag and put it in large ziploc bags, the kind
that stand up properly. This seems to work for me here in New Jersey, where
we have a representative assortment of critters. -My mom used a (new) galvanized metal trash/ash can with lid for flour
storage. This worked fine for about 30 yrs. It would hold at least 60 lbs.
So I imagine those rubbermaid plastic trash cans with lids would work too.
