QUESTION:I use a mostly clear plastic hanging storage unit (I think it's designed for
sweaters) to hold my scarves, mufflers and shawls. I used to just fold them
but they often got wrinkled. Recently I took several long cardboard tubes (from wrapping paper and paper towels), cut them into appropriate lengths
and rolled each scarf on its own piece of tube. The tubes fit perfectly in
the hanging unit. It's easy to see the different scarves and they stay smooth.
ANSWER: I store my silk scarfs folded (carefully folding them as they were
originally) in stacks in a drawer. I have 2 drawers. For heavier
items like mufflers or anything made out of wool, I have a big plastic
storage box with an airtight cover that you can buy at Wall mart or
target (like Sterlite or Rubbermade - the size of your choice) and I
store all mufflers, gloves, knit hats, earmuffs, etc. in their. Some
of my mufflers have matching gloves. Then when it gets cold, I know
where the cold weather gear is. Also fend away moths during the
summer.
