QUESTION:This is a rectangle 31 gallon storage container that I purchased at Home Depot.
Its not high like a garbage pail. Its low and wide. I want to mount this on
the back of a Yumbo 125 CC. The back of this scooter has a rack on the rear
fender. It has 3 bolts that bolt into the frame. I thought that I can make a
steel bracket, screw it into the frame with the 3 bolts, support the storage
container with 3X2's and plywood screwed onto the steel bracket. Total weight
would be approximately 10 lbs plus the weight of the food. Any thoughts?
ANSWER: -And you want to keep the front wheel in contact with the road?
I'd think a better way to go would be to get/build a trailer. (the load
limit on the back rack on the Elite250 is 15lbs...)
-Agreed , I had a look for a picture of that scooter , and with the rack
already past the back wheel you will totally ruin the handling and make it
quite dangerous with that weight on the back.
If you needed to transport this sort of weight on a scooter something long
and low like a Helix would be your best bet.
