The other one is a standard cheap umbrella stroller which folds up really small and weighs practically nothing, but doesn't have a storage basket or sun shade.

QUESTION:

I can't wait! My husband, 23month old son, and I are leaving for Florida in 16 days! I have been lurking here for months and have gotten lots of excellent information from this group. I have a few last minute questions. We will be driving up to WDW on Sunday, November 29th after spending Thanksgiving w/ relatives in Boca Raton. We have reservations for 5 nights at All Star Sports and have already purchased
5-day park hopper passes from the Disney Store. I am trying to decide whether we should head straight to one of the parks or go to the hotel to pre-check-in. The check out time for A.S.S. is 11 am, which is right around when we would be arriving. I'm afraid that being the end of a big holiday weekend, it could be a real zoo trying to check in when everyone else is checking out. Any advice? Question: My sister-in-law estimates about a 3 hour drive from Boca to WDW. Does this sound right to those of you who have done it before? Question: If we go straight to one of the parks, is there anyway we can prove that we are resort guests so we can get the free parking? Question: If we go to the hotel first, how long is it likely to take for us to check in, considering it will be ~11 a.m on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend? Question: Which park(s) would you recommend for that first day, considering we won't be arriving until late morning/early afternoon, and that it will be Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend? One last question, for those parents with small children. I have two different strollers that I could bring from home. One is a Century that came with the attachable infant car seat. It reclines and has a sun shade and a big basket underneath but is really bulky, even when its folded up. The other one is a standard cheap umbrella stroller which folds up really small and weighs practically nothing, but doesn't have a storage basket or sun shade. How important is the sun-shade in late Nov/early Dec. How important is ease of folding up for the busses and parks? Also, if we bring the expensive one, is there much danger of it being stolen? Any advice on which stroller to bring would be appreciated.

ANSWER:

I would bring the umbrella stroller. There isn't much room on the busy for the bigger stroller. After walking around all day, I was glad that I had a small, light stroller. I took an umbrella stroller when my daughter was 18 months and
2.5 years. My girls refused to wear hats or sunglasses when we go to Disney World. We have gone in december for the last three years. They didn't have any problems. The umbrella stroller I had, had a top that could be put up. I would also check in as soon as I got there to get it overwith. You will get your room pass and then can call after 4:00 and get your room number. If you leave your luggage at the hotel, they will take it to your room for you. My luggage didn't arrive until 7:00pm, but I didn't call for my room until 5:45pm. I went to the Animal Kingdom my first day. I was at Disney World October 13 - October 16 and stayed at the All-Star Music. Epcot is probably the less crowded on the weekends.
