Luggage Storage Facilities at Newark (EWR) ?
QUESTION:Are there any luggage storage facilities at Newark Airport?
I'll have a really long (12+ hours) layover there in a couple weeks, so I'd
love to leave my luggage somewhere and go spend the day in NYC but I don't
know where I could leave it, as I can't find any information about luggage
storage on the airport's website.
My incoming and outgoing flight are on two different tickets, so I don't
know if the airline operating my outgoing flight (Singapore Airlines) would
be willing to let me check in and leave my luggage with them.
Any ideas? If not at the airport then perhaps somewhere in Manhattan?
ANSWER: Due to 9/11 security measures there have been no lockers at Newark
Liberty International for quite some time. I haven't done this myself,
but I've heard that you can just not pick your luggage up. It will be
held at the left luggage department for the airline you fly in on. But,
the left luggage departments are not open 24/7. Alternatively you
could rent a car for a day and put your luggage in the trunk. But then
you'd have to park the car and pay for it. Maybe someone who has done
the left luggage thing can chime in.
