QUESTION:

long term cold storage help wanted Many of you know that I've been kicking around the idea of buying an enclosed car hauler for my newly restored Hawk. I live just north of Detroit and obviously live in a nasty winter environment. Since I only have a two car garage and neither my wife or myself desire to scrape snow and ice off one of our cars all winter we thought the trailer might be the perfect solution to our problems. Here's the question: What should I do to the car in preparation for a long winters nap? I'm asking this now, as I haven't yet bought my trailer and if I end up thinking this is a good idea I will buy my trailer now to bring my car home from Charlotte in. Thanks for your input.

ANSWER:

Put some gasoline stabilizer in the tank, run the engine for a minute or two to circulate, make sure the anti freeze is OK, remove the battery and store inside. You can 'bag' the car, if you want to be extra careful: http://www.carbag.com/
