QUESTION:Does anyone have any advice on storing vintage Star Wars items in plastic
storage bins? I have heard that certain types of plastics interact with 3 3/4"
GI Joe toys and create a nasty smell reminiscent of puke. Not exactly what I
want to happen to my vintage collection...
ANSWER: I bought some loose figures a while ago that had
been kept in two white plastic buckets with airtight
lids. Far from smelling like puke, all the figures
smelt like they did when they came out of the
packets! Quite a strong smell, but strangely nostalgic!
They all looked really bright too with no yellowing. The
sort of plastic was the thick soft stuff, like the old ice
cream tubs used to be. Still can't resist the occasional sniff!
