QUESTION:

I'm preparing a lot of my leather stuff for storage. Winter boots and such always get a good polishing and such before I put them away. I store the coats on hangers, the boots just standing up, in a closet that is cool and dry. But what about the pants? Should leather pants be folded flat for storage? somehow--and if so, how? Advice from the leather mavens, please.

ANSWER:

Without having consulted any experts, i.e. Superior Leather in NYC, I would wonder why we would need to keep leather protected in the same way as wool or cashmere. I mean, I don't think the moths will go after leather, will they? I think I'll just keep my leather things on hangers, the way they are now. No cedar, no bags, no paper. If I get expert info to the contrary, I will post here immediately, rest assured.
