QUESTION:Wood Storage Units
I'm planing on building my own & I was wondering if anyone knew of any
sites that had the plans & specificactions.
ANSWER: You just bought a system that works great for storage of wood and a lot
of other things. These are shelving units that are used in grocery and
hardware stores. Basically they are islands with shelves on both sides.
I was able to by enough pieces to put up 88' of islands with 5 shelves
per side plus 50 feet of i sided secured to my garage wall with 5
shelves and I am going to install another 30 to 50 feet in my solar
kiln. The price was $700.00 including trucking, Canadian funds. I still
have a skid of extra shelves left over. The package came in a 5 ton
truck and we used a forklift to unload the 8 skids of parts including 75
sheets of 4x4' 1/4" pegboard.
Recycling can be great and inexpensive, the only problem was my wife
came along while we we unloading the truck. She was not impressed with
the quantity, but soon forgave me once I had a bunch of the shelves
installed.
Check out used store fixture dealers.
