Self-storage in Calgary
We've got a lot of stuff that we don't have room for. Can anybody recommend
a good self-storage place?
QUESTION:Self-storage in Calgary
We've got a lot of stuff that we don't have room for. Can anybody recommend
a good self-storage place?
ANSWER: -I found that storage facilities in Calgary are very expensive. For a locker
the size of a single car garage was $400.00 per month. So I just sold off
what ever I don't need. I was told that there is a storage facility in
Airdrie that is quite a bit cheaper. I don't know how much cheaper. -Friends and I have some stuff in Sentinel up by Paskapoo there (what
is now called Canada Olympic Park I think). A 100 square foot room
with metal walls and door and wire mesh roof (it's indoors, but the
facility roof is much higher than the storage room roof, which is about
8 feet high) with $5,000 fire, flood and theft insurance costs about $200 per month. Some have a wood floor and some have a concrete floor.
There is an elevator, heavy-duty carts and hydraulic lifts at the
loading docks. A very nice facility! Ask them to let you look at
an available room before you decide. We've been using them for over two years now. They do raise the price
slightly every year, but they give you the option to prepay at the
old price and they give a small discount if you prepay a full year.
The manager lives on-site, which is reassuring.
