My fallback plan is to go with a self-storage place (I have a line on a
couple) but they are less than optimal due to price.
QUESTION:Recently I inherited a wonderful 1976 Mazda RX-4 (predecessor to the RX-7)
which came with about 2 extra RX-4s worth of parts! Some of these part I
will use, but some I plan to sell down the road (thanks to the world-wide
market of the internet, the seven owners of RX-4s on Earth can buy parts
from me -- just kidding but it is pretty rare ;^> ) These parts my father had collected were stored in my parents' basement, but
my mother recently bought a new house and like she said, "the parts aren't
going with me!" I would estimate the space needed for these parts to be
about 100 to 150 square feet (10' x 10' to 10' x 15'). Everything was set to go but, sadly, my plan 'A' fell through yesterday (Monday) and so now it is time to find plan 'B', because I must have all the
parts out of the house by Friday August 31st! Optimally I'm looking for a private garage (or half of one) that someone
wants to rent out since it might hold both the parts AND the car in the
winter. My fallback plan is to go with a self-storage place (I have a line on a
couple) but they are less than optimal due to price. Please put the word out if you can. Any other ideas, suggestions, or
recommendations for self-storage places would be more than welcome.
ANSWER: I AM CURIOUS was the RX-4
a rotary engine. The RX-7 STARTED OUT THAT WAY but of course got replaced
with a conventional combustion engine. So I am curious to know since Mazda
made it's name with the rotary engine, which was a better design, kinda like
the Apple Computer Always has been better designed, and of course both
abandoned the better design for products consumers wanted more. Now holy cow, the consumer never seems to pick the better design. The rotary
engine, they chose the piston. The Betamax, they chose VHS. The Apple, they
chose the IBM compatable. Infact the consume picks the worst technology
available. I mean they picked the QWERTY keyboard layout, which is one of
the worst ergonomical positioning possible. In fact many random placements
of keys are more ergonomic thanthe Qwerty keyboard.
Unforetunately, and I know that nobody reading is in that group, but we all
know that the masses are asses, and if most people have average
intellegence, its nothing to write home about. So no wonder the masses pick
the real lemons in the market and make life a little bit less than it could
be, for everyone!
