QUESTION:

I am planning to build a cellar in a 5ft square exterior storage room, in Mississippi. This room is now a tool room adjacent to a carport and a larger storage room. Most of the cooling units I have found on the net, like Koolspace, require adjacency to an interior space, I suppose because of the limited degree differential in their design. Yes, I will need cooling to 55F when it's 95 outside, although this area will be shaded. I will also need a unit that provides heating. Does anyone know of cooling/heating units that will work, or where I can get online consultation?

ANSWER:

If the exterior room is not well insulated, the insulation would reduce the space of the room by 1ft+, which doesn't leave you a lot of space in a 5ft storage.I know people either use a more powerful indoor unit or use a air-conditioner converted with a on/off regulator. No heating though.
