What will your Christmas Tree be Wearing?
QUESTION:Just thought of a thread that is remotely fashion related by a stretch
of the imagination
What will your Christmas tree be wearing this year?
I'm thinking of using an assortment of ornaments we've gathered over the
years... so it'll be an eclectic lot of Hallmark electrical ornaments (tacky probably.. but I started collecting these for my daughter and I
have to buy one a year), truly vintage glass ornaments, twinkle lights,
possibly baby's breath and garlands of strung cranberries. The color
scheme is green, red and ivory.. traditional colors. I have an
artificial tree because I hate picking needles out of the carpet, but I
miss the smell and look of real trees, so I'm thinking of buying one
this year.
Anyone else care to tell what color schemes you are choosing for your
tree.. style of decoration.... type of tree? Any ornaments you collect?
Thought this might be an interesting thread considering Christmas is a
time for dressing the tree.
ANSWER: Fake tree (hubby is allergic to the real thing) will be wearing a
hodge-podge of ornaments, such as the personalized and ones we've each
had since childhood, the nostalgic and antique ones we've inherited, the
handmade ones that survived our childhoods, our daughter's handmade ones
that survived her, those we've received as gifts, both real and "free"
from mail solicitations, the candy canes we don't eat and those we
collected from unknown or unremebered sources, possibly by spontaneous
generation in the storage box from other ornaments with nothing better
to do 11 months out of the year.
