QUESTION:Plans for building LP record Storage unit
I am looking for any plans that would allow me to stor my 600+LP
record collection. Cubes might work as well.
ANSWER: I bought a very nice turntable for about $400 that plays all of Grampa's 78s that
we inherited last year. Made by Numark and provided by the fine folks at
http://www.garage-a-records.com
As for storage---we are still figuring out what to do. My vote is to make a
well-reinforced china hutch looking thing 5' wide and 1.25' deep with closing doors
on the front, so it looks like actual furniture but is made to house 5' long x 2
shelves worth of records, which is about what we have. Could be a great winter
project, though it could be made moot by the cats, who seem to mistake the record
jackets as a scratching post.
