QUESTION:Shoe storage solution?
Anyone have any tips for storing shoes? Even after throwing out all my
worn/out of style shoes, I still have 50+ pairs & no space in my tiny
closet. I need an attractive method since whatever container I choose
will have to be "out" in my bedroom rather than hidden away in a
closet. Also, most shoe storage units only hold a few pairs & it would
be too expensive & take up too much space to buy numerous units. Any
ideas?
ANSWER: -I have three storage solutions. I keep my dress shoes in boxes on the
closet shelf. I use a three tiered rack from Target to hold at least 20
additional pairs of shoes. Thin sandals take very little space and the
tennis shoes are on the floor beneath the rack. Lastly, my better
sandals are on a hanging shoe rack attached to a large hook on the
closet wall. I probably have at least 50 pairs in all. -Our closets are tiny, too, so I feel your pain.
This one is rather ugly, but you could drape it with a lovely
tablecloth or other fabric:

Not quite my speed, but an example of a blanket chest type shoe
storage unit:

There are also Japanese shoe storage units, given the traditional
removal of shoes in Japanese homes:
